John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition

The John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition is a simulated hearing of the Dispute Settlement Body of the World Trade Organization (WTO). It is open to teams from all around the world. The competition consists of 3 rounds: the written rounds, the Regional Rounds and the Final Oral Round. The teams prepare and analyse a fictive case and present their arguments both for the Complainant and the Respondent in front of a Panel which consists of WTO and trade law experts. The best 20 teams from all over the world will be qualified to participate in the Final Oral Round, which takes place in Geneva, Switzerland.

Teams consisting of 2 – 4 law students are eligible to participate. If you are interested in participating, you should contact your local MCC Officer. In case your university does not have a Local ELSA Group, please contact the VP MCC of ELSA UK at mootcourts@uk.elsa.org.
